Ages: 0 - 14+
Along the edges of Lake Champlain is a scenic 12-mile trail that extends from downtown Burlington north through Colchester onto the Causeway. It's a multi-use trail so you will see walkers, runners, inline skaters and bikers. It's wide enough and relatively flat so jogging strollers or burlees are do-able for the little ones.
Note: it is paved with the exception of 5 miles in Colchester.

Located off from North Ave. Ethan Allen Park is an historic site, with views of the Green Mountains, Adirondacks and Lake Champlain from Ethan Allen Tower. Primary a natural area, with picnic facilities, overlook areas and hiking trails, Ethan Allen Park also connects to the Bike Path and has a playground.

Mud Pond Country Park is 79 acres of pine forest on the opposite side of South Road from Mud Pond Conservation Area. A 2.3 mile loop trail at Mud Pond Country Park was developed as a multiple use trail, meaning that it is suitable for mountain bikers, hikers, skiers, or trail runners. Millstone Hill Touring Center is a non-motorized recreation center with over 1500 acres of terrain and 40 miles of trails. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding. Camp sites and recreation dorms available. Day passes for bike season available as well as individual and family memberships. Open every day from 9.30 - 5.00PM.
