Ages: 6 - 12
Camp Greylock is a traditional day camp run by the Greater Burlington YMCA at the Kingsland Bay State Park on Lake Champlain in Ferisburgh Vermont. Kids 6-12 years old can enroll for weekly sessions throughout the summer for up to 8 weeks. Participants learn the basics of rigging, points of sail, sailing maneuvers, safety and recovery in a safe fun environment. Certified Instructors lead a variety of land and water based activities designed to promote comfort and independence in the boat. The Youth Camp provides off campus activities combined with traditional camp scheduling to appeal to children ages 11-13. The camp schedules activities for the campers, however, it allows freedom and flexibility to this age group in that campers (as a group) can decide what they will and will not participate in during traditional camp activities. This half day camp (8:00-12:00) is designed for teens ages 13-17 who have an interest in learning about the sport of Adventure Racing. This fun sport includes the elements of team building, navigation, trekking/running, orienteering, mountain biking and paddling. This “happening” coed day camp keeps campers on the move enjoying Burlington’s parks and beaches. This year will feature a Lake Champlain shipwreck search, river rafting, as well as in-line skating, hiking, mountain biking, arts, field sports, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing, swimming and field trips.
