This a popular, paved path that winds through the town of Stowe. The path is frequented by walkers, joggers and bikers. Along the way there places to stop for a picnic, go for a swim and sight-see.

The Allen Brook Nature Trail is a short 0.5 mile loop trail (paved) that passes through small stand of woods on the Williston Central School property. The trail crosses over the Allen Brook, where there is a boardwalk and observation platform for nature study or quiet contemplation. There are two playgrounds on the school property. This is a 4.1 mile loop hike.  Approximate hike time is 2 hours, but can vary with children. The first 1/2 mile is mostly flat. The trail is an Old Carriage Road so it is wide and easy to follow. It includes Red Rock Pond on the descent. The Summit has 180 degree views of the Adirondacks and the Champlain Valley. Recreation activities include hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
