Take a horse drawn sleigh ride up to cut your tree. Pack a picnic if you'd like to eat by the pond. If it is cold you can relax inside the cabin. They have Balsam Fir trees.

You can visit Bakersfield Tree Farm as early as October (please call for an appt) to tag your tree. Come back in December to cut it down. Trees range in size from 3-15 feet.
They have free candy canes for the kids and life-size dancing singing bear, Santa and snowman. There are sleds for moving trees (and kids) if there is snow on the ground. Bring your camera and your dog (if he is on a leash).

You will find plenty of Frasier Fir Christmas trees just waiting to be cut at Paine's. Many people head there from August through - Thanksgiving to tag their trees. You register at the white family farmhouse by signing the notebook on the porch. Then grab a tag and colored ribbon and head out to the field to find your perfect tree.
