Kids can enjoy a variety of summer camp options at the Bellwether School.
For Children Ages 4-8:
Children will explore through both play and guided experiences in these dynamic and creative two-week camp sessions:
Imagine IT! (June 17-28) Using an imagination is a quintessential childhood experience and this camp will bring all of your wildest ideas to life! We will act out stories, create costumes, construct colorful worlds and be "the music makers and the dreamers of dreams."
Create IT! (July 8-19) Tape, cardboard, and wires can become just about anything when children get their hands on them. During these two weeks, we will design and construct a variety of things from musical sculptures outside to mobiles with found objects to paintings on canvas!
Discover IT! (July 22-Aug. 2) There is so much world to learn about, and children are filled with curiosities. We will scientifically explore the world around us, determining our questions and finding ways to answer them. The amazing world of Bellwether's own wetland habitat will certainly be calling our names.
For Children Ages 8-13:
Children will explore exciting art & science themes in depth in these creative one-week camp sessions:
Act It Out (June 17-21) Lights. Camera. ACTION! The focus of this week will be interpreting stories - whether they are our own tales or ones we read. We will learn about setting, character, and plot as well as try our hands at drama, comedy, and... tragedy. Are you ready for your close up?
Picture This (June 24-28) Click! We will use cameras to capture moments with friends and images from nature. Looking at the work of famous photographers, we will find out what makes a good picture and try to immortalize some moments with the push of a button.
Invention Convention (July 8-12) You can make just about anything if you put your mind to it, and this camp will teach the basics of planning, collaborating and executing. We will use found materials to make a bunch of items from instruments to machines.
Transportation Station (July 15-19) How does a boat work? What makes a plane fly? What makes a bicycle stand straight? We will spend a week looking at the various ways we move about this world and maybe even construct some modes of transportation ourselves.
Jurassic Park (July 22-26) Ever wondered what the world was like when dinosaurs roamed it? Well, we have too! We will become paleontologists and learn about everything from trilobites and ammonites to Tyrannosaurus to Velociraptor!
Out of This World (July 29-Aug 2) 3....2....1.... BLAST OFF! Space. The final frontier. Have you ever wanted to discover something from our galazy besides planet Earth. Join us as we explore the amazing infiniteness that lies beyond our world.

We are three days in to Bake It! (June 18-29) and we are absolutely loving it! With a new cooking project each day (playdough, pretzels and bread so far), children are exploring a variety of ingredients and the effect each has on the end result. They are also reading about cooking, playing restaurant, and getting outside (water play too!) every day.
Teachers are exceptional-- each afternoon we are greeted with news of the day as...more
