Great opportunity to stock up on gear for the coming season. Take a buddy and do it tag team style, the lines can be pretty long. There is not as much kids stuff as adult gear so if you can go on Friday, you will have more choices. In years past, I have gotten socks for $5, helmets for under $50, long underwear $15 each, a jacket/snowpants set for under $90 for my daughter. Each year they seem to make the event more fun with stuff going on in the parking lot and surrounding area. Food, music, etc.

To bring the kids or not? Little ones are probably best left at home unless they have a TON of patience. Parking is in a bumpy field across the street making pushing a stroller difficult.

Great deals but...not for the high anxiety stricken! If you don't get there early, the selection is a disaster and picked over and thrown everywhere. There are people everywhere and the selection for kids is scarse. If you don't mind the crowds and sifting threw piles of good deals...this should not be missed!!

The Burton Summer Sale is always spectacle. Plan on waiting in line a minimum of 2 hours no matter when you go. We actually made it to the sale twice this year. Friday morning was a four hour wait when we arrived at 7am and Sunday was an hour and a half when we arrived at 11am. Burton keeps the line as fun as possible, handing out water, sobe drinks, and tickets to the alpine slide in Stowe- if you can answer Burton trivia questions. They also had a number of bouncy castles and activities for kids. If you bring your kids make sure you can have one adult wait in line while the other takes them to play. Once inside, the sale prices are great. Supposedly there are rare items that are worth showing up for on Friday morning, but I didn't know what they were. You'd have to ask your hip high schooler to find out. Sale prices were 30-50% off retail on Friday. On Sunday some of those prices dropped to %80 off. Thats about $70 for a $380 Burton jacket.
