About the instructor: Kate Lanxner, the instructor, is a Vermont resident of 17 years, who spent the last five years in Geneva, Switzerland, in the French-speaking part. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia. She participated in an international printmaking studio in Paris, France in the 1980’s. While in Geneva, she set up her “Creativity Counts!” program, held in a studio and outdoors, for private art lessons and camps for English and French speakers, including children with special needs.
Lessons can be scheduled after school, weekends, and on school breaks, in blocks of six or twelve and are purchased as a packet in advance so that the student has credit in case of lessons missed to illness or other commitments.
Please email for a full description of techniques and themes, and teaching philosophy. We can design a program especially for your child or teenager. High schoolers' portfolio preparation for art schools.

Kids and teens have really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the lessons, and also seeing themselves progress in drawing skills. Having a reception for the parents at the end of a semester was a lot of fun for them. Parents have reported that kids are taking things they have learned and drawing up a storm at home--for one Swiss/American student, even in a hospital room after a skiing accident broke her collarbone!
