My 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter both took the Graffiti & Street Art, Level 1 camp this summer. My son described it as "awesome, unique and totally out of the ordinary". The kids stared off camp by coming up with their own graffiti or street name which they then parlayed into a lot of their work. Stenciling was one of their favorite, as was spray chalk. They came home at the end of this 5 day class with 1 large and 1 small board as well as a t-shirt they designed and many other pieces. They really liked their teacher. They said Nick was great.

This fall both of my children (ages 10 & 12) took the Fused Glass class. Fantastic! It was amazing to see what they created each week--bowls, plates, mirrors, tiles, etc. But what I loved most was how excited they were to see their pieces come back each week. They were both so proud of what they had made.

It is no secret we love Davis Studio so our daughter decided to have her 9th birthday party there and it couldn't have been a better choice! For her party she choose to make stuffed animals. That meant in the span of 2 hours twelve girls, many of whom had never sewn before, made these wonderful little cats and dogs out of socks with button eyes and felt ears. Sure, their stitches weren't perfect but the end result was absolutely adorable. When it came time for cake and presents, they rushed through so that they could get back to sewing! Judging by that, plus the fact that they were all hesitant to leave I would say it was a success. FYI - parties don't have to just be about sewing. Kids can opt to paint or make t-shirts as well.

Folk Art Camp was superb! Each day my daughter made/worked on a new piece of art, or two. In the short span of a week, they made one large acrylic painting, an adorable canvas tote bag, a super cool block sculpture, a tin pencil drawing in a cloth frame and even the invitation for Friday's art reception was its own little pièce de résistance. A highlight for our child was when they took the class outside and sketched in the park. All of the art she created is bound together by the common theme of Folk Art and as a result we have another beautiful collection courtesy of our daughter's time at Davis Studio.

I highly recommend sending your child to a class or camp here if they show any interest in further developing their art skills. I look back at our child's work from a year ago and can't believe how much she has grown and improved. Bravo Teresa!

Our daughter took her first Acrylic Painting class this Spring. We have been incredibly surprised by how much she has grown artistically in just a few short weeks. With Teresa's encouragement she is developing her art skills. She loves using more than just crayons, markers and paper. It is wonderful to use "real" materials like canvas and acrylic paints. Each week she is excited to go to class and is looking forward to the art show at the end so that she can proudly share her work with us.

Fairy & Fairy House Camp promised a week of enchantment and it delivered! Be it a Fairy Tale Damsels, flower girl, or princess, the girls all wasted no time getting into character. MC and Cheryl were absolutely wonderful teachers. Although the campers seemed like they could have spent all day in the studio, after lunch it was nice that they had outside time at Callahan Park. Our daughter has already declared that she could spend "every week of summer camp" at Davis Studio!

My 7 yr old daughter took the Imaginary Landscapes 1-wk camp last summer and had an outstanding experience. The depth of exploration and creativity was incredible, especially for such a youngster. She was guided to envision a whole new world - what it looked like, its flag, its map, its customs, its people. A journal that accompanied the project became a rich keepsake of this rewarding experience. Highly recommend Teresa Davis!

My 4 year old has attended preschool art classes with Martina for the past couple of years, and she really loves it. The project ideas are so creative and varied, and the materials are high quality and interesting. While inspiration is provided in the form of example projects or suggestions, the kids are given all the space they need to go in any direction they want to with their individual projects, which I think is great. The kids also work on a canvas each session, and while they are free to use it however they want, some guidance towards making it a project they can build on is given, which is helping my kiddo develop her ideas around painting quite a bit. We love this class!...more

Our 7-year-old son loves Davis Studio. So it was my pleasure to refer a friend of mine to Davis Studio. Her daughter tried out Davis Studio for one summer class. Then she was a convert, and has become a repeat customer. Plus, she has thanked me multiple times for referring her to Davis Studio.

I took my 3-year-old daughter to a Preschool Art class at the Davis studio this spring and it was FANTASTIC! She had an absolute blast and I was super impressed with the level of projects the kids created. The instructor was great and the studio was so clean, bright, and inspiring while being kid-friendly. We'll definitely go back!

Outstanding!

Our son (who is 6-1/2 years old) has taken multiple classes from Davis Studio, and he loves it. It's fun, engaging, and the teachers interact personally with him, taking great stock in his overall experience there.

Plus, after each camp he attends (and he's attended several), he grows by leaps and bounds artistically. And that's just not in what he creates. It's also by his enhanced understanding and appreciation of art. We love it when he shares with us what he's learned in class, whether it's about Matisse, or a certain painting technique.

In our family, we view art not just as an end until itself, but also as a means of expression and interpreting/helping shape the world us. We feel that Davis Studio furthers that view.

His classes have been taught by a variety of teachers at Davis Studio, and we've been impressed by the consistently high caliber of staff.

We strongly recommend Davis Studio.

Can't say enough about Teresa Davis and her teachers. She has been doing art and teaching for such a long time, with passion, energy, understanding, and an insistance on positive encouragement. If you want your kids to make REAL, gift-worthy art and actually learn techniques instead of just "play", Davis studio is IT. You'll never look elsewhere again.

Thank you Davis Studio and Teresa! We just celebrated our daughters 5th birthday today with an Acrylic Painting Party at Davis Studio. With 13 of her friends joining her, they all had so much fun and the art work created was PRICELESS. It was fun for the adults too. I forgot my cake server and ice-cream scoop and she had it covered. If you're looking for a fun and easy place to have your celebration I recommend you book your party at Davis Studio! My 12 year old can't wait to have her party there. Check it out you wont be disappointed!...more

I LOVE THE DAVIS STUDIO not just for my kids Savana & Pierce, but myself as well. My favorite for the kids is the Holiday gift making class. I was very surprised at the quality and uniqueness of the creations. I signed them up in August just to make sure they got in. I have a beautiful painting my son did of a penguin in my office. Makes me smile every time I see it. Tonight I took my first adult glass jewelry making class. All of a sudden two hours was up. Can't wait to go back next Tuesday and see the pieces, then turn them into jewelry. Vermont is an awesome state for art. Thank you for providing something so valuable to my kids, myself, and our community. Jennifer Goslovich. ...more

I can't express enough praise for the Davis Studio! The quality of instruction is fantastic and the opportunities are unique and varied. My daughter has been attending camps and classes at the Davis Studio for the past 7 years. She loves it there and even had her birthday party there last year - they do amazing art-based birthday parties!! Because of her experiences and education at the Davis Studio, my daughter appreciates art, feels comfortable drawing and painting, and has fun exploring different art forms. Theresa Davis along with her staff has provided a safe, educational, fun, comfortable and unique opportunity for art exploration in Burlington.
