My 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter both took the Graffiti & Street Art, Level 1 camp this summer. My son described it as "awesome, unique and totally out of the ordinary". The kids stared off camp by coming up with their own graffiti or street name which they then parlayed into a lot of their work. Stenciling was one of their favorite, as was spray chalk. They came home at the end of this 5 day class with 1 large and 1 small board as well as a t-shirt they designed and many other pieces. They really liked their teacher. They said Nick was great.

This fall both of my children (ages 10 & 12) took the Fused Glass class. Fantastic! It was amazing to see what they created each week--bowls, plates, mirrors, tiles, etc. But what I loved most was how excited they were to see their pieces come back each week. They were both so proud of what they had made.

It is no secret we love Davis Studio so our daughter decided to have her 9th birthday party there and it couldn't have been a better choice! For her party she choose to make stuffed animals. That meant in the span of 2 hours twelve girls, many of whom had never sewn before, made these wonderful little cats and dogs out of socks with button eyes and felt ears. Sure, their stitches weren't perfect but the end result was absolutely adorable. When it came time for cake and presents, they rushed through so that they could get back to sewing! Judging by that, plus the fact that they were all hesitant to leave I would say it was a success. FYI - parties don't have to just be about sewing. Kids can opt to paint or make t-shirts as well.

Folk Art Camp was superb! Each day my daughter made/worked on a new piece of art, or two. In the short span of a week, they made one large acrylic painting, an adorable canvas tote bag, a super cool block sculpture, a tin pencil drawing in a cloth frame and even the invitation for Friday's art reception was its own little pièce de résistance. A highlight for our child was when they took the class outside and sketched in the park. All of the art she created is bound together by the common theme of Folk Art and as a result we have another beautiful collection courtesy of our daughter's time at Davis Studio.

I highly recommend sending your child to a class or camp here if they show any interest in further developing their art skills. I look back at our child's work from a year ago and can't believe how much she has grown and improved. Bravo Teresa!

Our daughter took her first Acrylic Painting class this Spring. We have been incredibly surprised by how much she has grown artistically in just a few short weeks. With Teresa's encouragement she is developing her art skills. She loves using more than just crayons, markers and paper. It is wonderful to use "real" materials like canvas and acrylic paints. Each week she is excited to go to class and is looking forward to the art show at the end so that she can proudly share her work with us.

Fairy & Fairy House Camp promised a week of enchantment and it delivered! Be it a Fairy Tale Damsels, flower girl, or princess, the girls all wasted no time getting into character. MC and Cheryl were absolutely wonderful teachers. Although the campers seemed like they could have spent all day in the studio, after lunch it was nice that they had outside time at Callahan Park. Our daughter has already declared that she could spend "every week of summer camp" at Davis Studio!

My 8 yr old daughter absolutely loved her time attending Davis Studio summer camp this year.. I appreciated the one day options available for the July 4th week and we signed her up for 3 days. The space is wonderful, her teacher/counselor Lydia was very friendly, super creative about projects and materials, and set a wondeful tone of exploration and fun for the week. My daughter came home on Friday with several actual art pieces and I was hugely impressed with the access she had to so many high quality materials, as well as the guidance for what to do with them. This camp was well worth the money and I feel good supporting a local, woman-owned business that encourages the arts. My daughter is already looking forward to attending a fall class. ...more

Davis Studio is an amazing place. My children first started taking art classes at their location on Howard Street. It has been terrific to see all the great changes at their new space. My youngest child has been involved with Davis Studio recently with a group-Friends on the Go. She has special needs and Teresa has been so accomadating to her and the other kids in the group. We are so happy to display Ella's art along side with her older brother and sister's paintings. It is wonderful to have this art studio in our community. All the instructors we have met through the years have been more than qualified to offer unique experiences to my children. We have taken classes, hosted birthday parties and been guests at other parties. We have always enjoyed our time at the studio and we have a home full of art as a result of these great times!...more

My daughter attended 2 summer camps at Davis Studio last year and absolutely loved them. I was very impressed with the staff who are knowledgeable and caring. My daughter learned so much and has been inspired to really focus herself on bettering her skills. This is not just a make and take kind of camp, rather an art class with a twist of fun. My daughter was very proud of all she learned and her art work.

My daughter took a one-day class recently geared toward kids of all ages with special needs. The instructor was amazing - accommodating for all ability levels, clear with her instruction, and very encouraging. She supported the fact that each child interpreted the mixed media project in their own way, and each child left the class with a beautiful piece of art that they were very proud of. My daughter's looks amazing hanging on my wall!

Our Son Connor, age 10 and daughter Clara age 8, have attended Davis Studio Art Camps for years. We have been impressed with Davis Studio since day 1. The instructors are well educated, talented and are personal to your child and always full of positive words. Everyone is warm and friendly which leaves the parents at ease when dropping off their child for camp knowing they will be safe and happy. The director, Theresa Davis clearly have a vision and it animates the entire experience of the young artists. The art projects are made with quality materials. The paintings, personal portraits, and creative art sculptures are beautiful pieces of art. The performance that they hold at the end of the session is amazing, especially after only one week! All the children are happy and want to stay longer. I would HIGHLY recommend these camps to anyone!!!

We love the Davis Studio! Davis has offerings for everyone in our family. My daughter attends the Friday preschool art sessions and comes home with a range of well made and authentic pieces each time. We then stay for lunch, which is delicious and family friendly. Such a great add to our community.
