November 2011
This fall both of my children (ages 10 & 12) took the Fused Glass class. Fantastic! It was amazing to see what they created each week--bowls, plates, mirrors, tiles, etc. But what I loved most was how excited they were to see their pieces come back each week. They were both so proud of what they had made.

It is no secret we love Davis Studio so our daughter decided to have her 9th birthday party there and it couldn't have been a better choice! For her party she choose to make stuffed animals. That meant in the span of 2 hours twelve girls, many of whom had never sewn before, made these wonderful little cats and dogs out of socks with button eyes and felt ears. Sure, their stitches weren't perfect but the end result was absolutely adorable. When it came time for cake and presents, they rushed through so that they could get back to sewing! Judging by that, plus the fact that they were all hesitant to leave I would say it was a success. FYI - parties don't have to just be about sewing. Kids can opt to paint or make t-shirts as well.

Folk Art Camp was superb! Each day my daughter made/worked on a new piece of art, or two. In the short span of a week, they made one large acrylic painting, an adorable canvas tote bag, a super cool block sculpture, a tin pencil drawing in a cloth frame and even the invitation for Friday's art reception was its own little pièce de résistance. A highlight for our child was when they took the class outside and sketched in the park. All of the art she created is bound together by the common theme of Folk Art and as a result we have another beautiful collection courtesy of our daughter's time at Davis Studio.

I highly recommend sending your child to a class or camp here if they show any interest in further developing their art skills. I look back at our child's work from a year ago and can't believe how much she has grown and improved. Bravo Teresa!

Our daughter took her first Acrylic Painting class this Spring. We have been incredibly surprised by how much she has grown artistically in just a few short weeks. With Teresa's encouragement she is developing her art skills. She loves using more than just crayons, markers and paper. It is wonderful to use "real" materials like canvas and acrylic paints. Each week she is excited to go to class and is looking forward to the art show at the end so that she can proudly share her work with us.

Fairy & Fairy House Camp promised a week of enchantment and it delivered! Be it a Fairy Tale Damsels, flower girl, or princess, the girls all wasted no time getting into character. MC and Cheryl were absolutely wonderful teachers. Although the campers seemed like they could have spent all day in the studio, after lunch it was nice that they had outside time at Callahan Park. Our daughter has already declared that she could spend "every week of summer camp" at Davis Studio!

Probably the best summer day camps my son has attended over the years. He's been a summer camp participant for over three years now and has loved the Cartooning camp. The instructors really nurture the artist in all children, even those kids who might not consider themselves as art kids. Love the confidence my son has developed through cartooning.

My 6 year old daughter participated in the Fairy Tale Art camp this summer and LOVED it. She came home beaming every day, LOVED her instructor and created some wonderful work that she was really proud of. She took the Acrylics class when she was 5 and LOVED it as well. I'm a huge fan of Davis Studio. If your kids enjoys making art, you should definitely check it out.

My boys have participated in two classes & one Super Hero camp at Davis Studio. Theresa has such a gift with children. My boys quickly felt at ease in the classes. I was blown away by the paintings that my six year old created! I realized that this was probably the first time that my son had spent two full hours creating art! The Preschool Art class was also wonderful. Theresa has figured out how many different types of activities she should offer in a preschool class. The class was filled with many different creative mini projects. It was obvious she understands the attention span & general vibe of preschoolers. (And Mom got to create fun things too!) I can't say enough good things about Theresa & the classes that she offers at Davis Studio!...more

I think I had as much fun in this class as the little boy I nannied for! There were different projects each time we went, and we got to bring home our completed art work. They always do one big art project and let you take home a painting on canvas. The family I worked for still has her sons art hanging in her house. It was really very impressive!!
