The other entrance is located on Tree Hill Road and is only a short distance to the overlook. At the overlook, there is a panoramic view of the Champlain Valley.
The trail is relatively flat with the exception of the last 500 feet to the overlook. Great for walking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. No bikes allowed.

Great short hike! My 4 year old walked the whole way; there and back. The effort is minimal and the reward is great. There are a few hills, but nothing too serious. Honestly, getting to the overlook is slightly easier than getting back. The last 480 feet are a little steep, but the bigger problem is tall grass including some pricker bushes overgrowing the trail.

This mile trail is a gem. Just long enough with some hills to give you a little exercise, but not too bad for kids above the age of 5. And the trek is worth it with the prize at the end a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. In the winter, the kids like to then sled down the hill (though it is steep and narrow). Oh, and you can walk back via the trail or the road.
