The Haunted Forest takes place every October on the grounds of the Catamount Outdoor Family Center. This very special event combines outdoor theater with multiple special effects creating a truly magical Halloween celebration. There are over 1,000 jack-o-lanterns that line the paths of the enchanted forest where visitors will encounter many tricks and treats!

We had a great time. It was perfect for little kids and the volunteers did a wonderful job. I liked how it wasn't scary/gory as my little guy isn't ready for that kind of Halloween fun yet.

Ok for kids and the pumpkins lit up were impressive but the skits were a bit lame and not scary at all. Some of the production staging was pretty good, especially the animated robot pumpkin thing but the cardboard stuff and kiddy stuff make it good typical Halloween fun for kids and soccer moms.

I was very disappointed when I got there and the shows for 6,7, and 8 were sold out. I had no idea you had to pre buy your tickets. Needless to say I had one very sad little boy.

The Haunted Forest is celebrating its 31st year and I have to say this year is one of the best in recent memory. Well done forest skits, the hundreds of carved pumpkins along the path are magical. It's perfect for family, not too scary, but offers a bit of dark woods adventure for all ages. A highlight is Jack's mountain of Jack O'Lanterns.
There is matinee for younger children and families that is a bit tamer than the evening.
