The Hero's Welcome General Store is located in a century-old building on the shore of Lake Champlain. The main store is housed in the original structure, but the property now includes several buildings; including a bakery, cafe, marina, boat landing, post office and general store.
The Hero's Welcome General Store is a destination and great fun for kids. Inside the general store are big jars of candy, upside-down goggles, whistles, wind-ups, puzzles, pails, and squirt guns. Whether you arrive by car, bike or boat, it's worth the visit.

The old-fashioned scoop-it-yourself candy jars might catch your eye when you first arrive, but make sure you head for the back of the store where various oddities are kept. There are lots of trinkets on low shelves, so you'll want to keep an eye on little fingers, but older kids will have a great time browsing on their own.

Whether your in the area just driving by, visiting Camp Abnaki, staying at one of the nearby State Parks, or just boating nearby, don't miss an opp to stop into Hero's Welcome for a sandwich, coffee or just to look around at all the interesting things on display. The kids love to browse themselves and then take their lunch across the street and eat waterside at one of the picnic tables.
