Inlu (think of in lieu of) is website that manages invitations with an interesting twist. Not only can you help invited guests pool funds for a special gift, but you can ask them to submit funds for a specific cause--charity or non-profit. Funds collected for the cause are sent directly to the charity in the honoree's name.

5 * I have organized a few events with Inlu now. LOVE IT!!! Never has organizing a bday party been easier. Personalize your Inlu with your own pic, or choose from the many super options. Send invite, Collect RSVP's, send thank you's, done! Fantastic way to teach your child about giving to a charity, while also cutting back on gifts received.

I organized a thank-you gift for my son's football coach. Wow, this is now an easy task even though there were 60 families to contact. Probably the hardest thing was formatting the email addresses and pasting them into inlu.com. Other than that, it was a breeze. And everyone else thought so too. Another great idea created by local Vermonters.

We organized an inlu for my son's 6th birthday...he wanted a new bike, and nothing else. Guess what he got! A new bike. And nothing else. No repeat toys, no extra plastic around the house. He also collected a donation for Make a Wish Foundation, and is so proud of his contribution. He's already planning the inlu for his next birthday!
