We recently ate at Madera's (formerly Roque's - same owner, just renamed) on a Saturday night. Although we were seated quickly (under 10 min) after being told it would be 45 minutes, our food took forever and then it wasn't all that good. The kids menu seems like it is a good value for $4.95 as the portion was huge. They do have plenty of outdoor seating now and there was live music. The bathroom situation is not ideal for families. You need to request a key from the host and go outside the restaurant into the office space of the building. There is no changing table. There are high chairs, but we were not offered any sort of kids coloring activities so be sure to bring your own....more

Roque's is certainly one of the top places to go when I'm thinking about great spots with my kids for dinner or lunch. And, they do the best job in Vermont at Mexican food. The tortilla-making is fun for the kids to watch, and we never come away hungry! They make having water available for kids very easy. The bathroom is in another part of the building that houses Roque's so you need to be prepared to have an adult take your little one if they aren't over 9 or 10. Fun in the summer to head out after lunch and go to the cremee stand near Echo, or combine the day with Echo, lunch at Roque's and the cremee stand afterward!...more
