You know how you always want to be able to get a bagel, a snack, a drink, anything for your hungry kids (and you) but not have to leave the playground? Well now you can! This great little bakery cafe is located right next to the playground in Richmond Town Park. They serve wholesome treats from their wood fired oven and on-site garden. Oh yeah, and don't miss grabbing a few of the delicious mini cinnamon buns for the car ride home!

The food is great, you cannot beat the location (right by the park!), the menu is basic but good, and would have given it 5 stars but the service the night we were there was slow. We stopped in to grab a quick bite before berry picking and jazz listening at Owl's Head and it took forever to get our order. Other than that, a great place and I can see this being a regular dinner spot for us.

One of our family's favorite places to eat - snacks, lunch or dinner! Adults + children are equally satisfied. I'm just as excited as the kids to get a gourmet salad or special of the day - as the kids are for P+J or mini muffins. The Sunday brunch is an extra treat - especially as a vegetarian family - we couldn't ask for a better option. Really great creative food! It's also a very comfortable + friendly environment for bringing kids....more

This is my favorite bakery ever. I love the new location. The food is great. And it is really nice to be able to sit down and have lunch. It would be nice if there were some highchairs.

One of my favorite locations in Chittenden County. The food is wonderful (the chocolate raspberry croissants and the cheese cinnamon rolls are some of the best pastries I've ever had), and the location next to the playground is a match made in heaven for parents. OTR also usually has mini muffins and cinnamon rolls, the perfect size for kids.

The location is great - bakery plus lovely park. For little guys however, they don't have high chairs (only booster seats). Just a warning so you're prepared!

What an asset to Richmond! Great lunches, fresh salads, and delectable baked goods! On the rise focuses on organic and vegetarian foods with some very cool community tie-ins such as open mic and movie nights.

I work in Richmond and eat at the Bakery regularly. It has a fantastic and creative atmosphere. The food and service are terrific. On the Rise has a unique small town charm you aren't likely to find many other places.

Took the family for Sunday brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed the casual and comfortable atmosphere. Did notice that they have some kid activities (markers, toys, games, etc.) and one restroom has a bench for changing. Wish they offered better napkins; the small, waxy kind made it tough to remove the jam from my daughter's face.
