Grab the kids and come on out to a hand-clapping, body-wiggling family concert with “one of America’s most inventive string bands” (The Boston Herald), offered by Waitsfield’s own Spring Hill School. On Sunday March 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Big Picture Theater, Upper Valley regulars Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem celebrate the release of their debut family CD, Ranky Tanky, an uplifting, danceable, joyfully spontaneous menagerie of songs. From a “veggie baster” birthday serenade and a duck dance (no relation to the chicken), to a traditional game from the Georgia Sea Islands and a lush reworking of Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers,” the band’s concert performance (just like their CD) offers music for kids that parents can love and music for parents that kids can love. Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem is a rootsy, Americana-style string band of four musicians — all parents — who have played and toured together for 10 years.
