Lessons
Children’s Programs are headquartered here at Spruce Peak where the broad and gentle runs make a great environment for learning. Advanced skiers and riders venture farther to explore terrain that has given Stowe it’s reputation as the best in the East. All lessons are designed to be age appropriate to ensure a safe, fun and positive outdoor experience. Our instructors are specifically trained to provide developmentally appropriate activities for each ability and age.

Child care
If the little ones aren’t quite ready for the slopes, consider the Cubs Childcare Center, a state licensed program for children 6 weeks to 6 years located in a ski chalet at the base of Lower Spruce with easy access to the slopes.

There is also a program is called ‘3-Ski’ which is a combination of daycare and an introduction to skiing. 3 Ski is a FUN, no pressure introduction to the sport of skiing with our specially trained instructors. I took my sons to the Mountain Adventure Center at Stowe Mountain resort last weekend for full day ski lessons. We had a great experience!

Pros:
- The instructor (Steve) was AMAZING. My boys are still talking about him.
- The resort provides lunch to the children. My oldest son said that they had choices and that lunch was “really good”.
- By the end of the day both boys were able to go up/down the Magic Carpet, and the older one probably could have done a very basic beginner trail.
- They had SO MUCH FUN… they want to go back this coming weekend.

Cons:
- The price.

I would definitely enroll them in this program again. There is an option call the “Munchkin” program, which I think is just for Vermonters, that gives you a break on ½ day lessons/experiences – something I will be looking into next year for sure!!
