The Schoolhouse offers week-long camp sessions during the February and April vacation weeks and for nine weeks in the summer. Each week is defined by a different theme and might include: fiber arts, science, drama, art, wetlands exploration, and music. The camp day begins at 8:30 and ends at 5:30. (K-9 grades)
Each camp day, children are divided into small, multi-age groups and assigned a camp counselor. Each group will spend the morning in theme related activities with short breaks. The afternoon includes a variety of enriching activities including outdoor & water/snow play (depending on the season), snack, stories and supervised play until closing.
The Schoolhouse values the diversity of its parent and student body and accepts childcare subsidy and offers needs-based scholarships.
The Schoolhouse, located in S. Burlington, occupies a renovated barn on 28 acres of fields and wetlands. The building offers ample space including 5 classrooms and a large gym. Students come from towns in and around Chittenden County, including Burlington, Hinesburg, Richmond, Milton, Williston, Charlotte, Jericho and Shelburne.

My daughter has been at the Schoolhouse summer camp all summer this year, and she has loved it! The teachers are all fantastic, warm and friendly with the kids. You can tell they really take a lot of time planning fun themes and projects that the kids would enjoy.
