Located 1.5 miles south of Ferry Road on Rte 7, the Charlotte Berry Farm is beautiful spot to pick your own berries. We were there for blueberry and raspberry picking. The Blueberries are located on a hill behind the farm stand/shop. Every 4 rows the blueberry variety changes. We found the shadiest spot for picking are the rows farthest back, by the edge of the property. There the bushes are almost tree-like and create some shade. I wouldn't recommend a stroller for this adventure as the rows are close together, perhaps use a baby carrier instead.

Raspberry picking is a bit closer but may not be for all kids as the plants have thorns and you must lift the bushes up in order to get to the berries underneath. If this is a "must do" maybe a set of gardening gloves would do the trick.

There is one port-o-potty. The shop sells cold drinks and there are picnic benches outside, but you need to bring your own snacks. I'd suggest wipes to after all the picking - we were kinda sticky!

This is a great place to pick and a great place for kids. There is a large field near the entrance and blueberries where the kids can run around. There has been an abundance of berries whenever we have gone. The staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming!

What a great outing for young children/families! Not only was the quality of the blueberries we picked outstanding, but also, they were friendly and well-staffed. While Mom weighed and paid, my girls especially loved the beads to make necklaces/bracelets - also a nice way to get out of the sun for pickers who fade early. A+ from us!

We just went strawberry picking here a couple weekends ago and it was FANTASTIC. They have a field out back that had plenty of strawberries to pick. It is right in the sun though, so I suggest making sure you are dressed appropriately to be in the sun, if you plan there to be a while. (Time flies when you are having fun!) Lots of strawberries waiting to get ripe, and plenty for the rest of the season. Wonderful place to bring the kids.

I've been here several times with elementary school kids I worked with and my husband and have no complaints! Tons and tons of berries, really friendly staff and reasonable prices . We moved away for a couple years and now have a toddler. I can't wait for him to have his first berry picking experience here!

We LOVE this place! I've been 3 times this summer for blueberries with my 4 and 6 year old. They love it. My son has figured out which area is his favorite and always goes back to that spot. My daughter always wants to run over to the "pin wheel" she calls it. We'll be going again next week! The creamies I agree with another reviewer that they were not as creamy, more icy. My son still likes the blueberry one. My daughter does not. They only have one size so they're a bit large for my 4 year old anyway. But it has nice activities for the kids to do like ping pong, and a football toss and basketball hoop. So while I'm checking out or we're waiting for other friends to finish my kids are always playing. And the decorated boat is always a hit! Truly a destination type of picking place. A real favorite for us! So happy to have it so close! ...more

What a great place to go. I took my four children, ages 9 months through 12 years, and the fun was enjoyed by all of us! 3 buckets later, we've enjoyed plump, gorgeous berries bursting with flavor as our go-to snack for days. We planned a bit of baking so made sure to use the well-marked signs they have indicating the type of berry and what they are best for, then got enough of the firm ones that hold their shape when baked to create delicious blueberry hand-pies, as well as a Blueberry Cornmeal cake that was enjoyed by many.

The wide rows made it possible to let baby crawl around (blue knees by the time we finished) while we picked, and there were even activities in the shop for the kids to do while I waited to weigh the berries. One note, we did spring for cremees but the consensus among my group was that they were not very creamy, and that a trip down the road to Sam's afterward would make the outing a perfect one. That said, I couldn't have planned for a better way to spend time outdoors on a gorgeous Vermont summer day.
