You can snack you way through the first part of the 45 minute wait in line as you will be in the front of the store where there are samples galore of jellies, jams, crackers, pretzels, cheeses, smoked meats and other tasty treats. Keep in mind these are all at the perfect height for toddlers to put their hands on. There are sweet little helpers walking around with maple syrup samples too. But then you wind your way through the back and into the kitchen past hot ovens finally ending up in the Sugar House where the line snakes around the evaporator one last time before you get your Pancake Breakfast.

Is it worth the wait? Perhaps if you have patient children and desire for gigantic pancakes with melted butter on top served with a side of bacon, sausage links and patties. No doubt the food was good. But we didn't learn anything about how syrup is made and sugaring even though there were plenty of Dakin Farm workers tending the Evaporator and walking around throughout the store.

I figure it's time for an updated review; We attended last week's breakfast, and it was extremely busy. In spite of that, I noticed that the long line was moving much faster this year, so they've made some improvements to their process.

The cost was $7.95 for adults and 4 or 5 for kids (can't remember which). Very reasonable, considering the amount/quality of food, and the higher cost of some of the other sugar house breakfasts around the area. Two large cakes, bacon, sausage, fruit, coffee, milk, and all of the syrup you can manage.

The food was excellent, as usual. Dakin Farm's bacon and sausage is delicious. My recommendation is to pass on the fruit, only because the juice will mix with the syrup in your plate. Don't taint the syrup :)

Since they've added table to the back room, we've haven't had problems with seating. plenty of parking, but you may have to walk a little bit up a gravel drive (with incline), so that's a consideration if you have someone who's less than mobile in your party.

I've experienced a line in the past too, but not that past few years. We were in and out in 30 minutes. The meats are delicious and the pancakes were yummy! I would try to attend this one!
