Loveworks offers year-round programs for children six weeks old through Pre-Kindergarten. All classes offer excellent loving care along with activities to enhance fine and gross motor skills, language development, learning through discovery, social and emotional skills, and plenty of explore and outside time. The name Loveworks was selected to highlight the love that is experienced when working with young children and to accentuate wanting all children to feel love in their heart and share that love with others. This is emphasized daily through our character development, where children learn about kindness, friendliness, respect, compassion, cooperation, and manners. Children learn to care for each other, including all living elements in nature as well as care of property. At Loveworks Child Care Centers, children will know they are loved and that love with shine from their hearts.

Loveworks was created in 2016 as a new branch of the HeartworksRenaissance, and Endeavor Schools organization. Loveworks is for families looking for full time, year-round quality child care.

Formerly, Leaps and Bounds Childcare.

We have been at the center for the past two years. Our daughter loves going to school and will often prefer attending school than staying home with me. Her eagerness for school speaks to her comfortability in the space and the care she receives. The center is in the process of getting act 66 funding, which will be a huge step.

I cannot tell you enough how bad the management is at Leaps and Bounds. They truly only care about money, they have no regard for the families. I do want to note that I actually liked the teachers, I thought most of them were ok. The teachers seem to live in fear of management though (that is why they have such a huge teacher turnover rate). I read other peoples negative reviews before I enrolled my kids, thinking that they were not entirely true and to give Leaps and Bounds a chance. Boy, am i sorry i did that. My kids and I could not have had a worse experience. Both of my kids were only in the center for about 2 weeks before they were kicked out ...and they only gave me a 1.5 day notice (oh and by they way, they told me about their termination via email, not even to my face!). The young girl who "runs" the center there told me my kids "weren't a fit for the Leaps and Bounds curriculum" because they kept getting sick and were extra needy...well of course they were!!!, they were brand new to a day care and had only been there 2 weeks! As a working mother with 2 young kids they really left me out to dry, big time. I had to scramble to find alternate care without losing my job. The Owner of the center was no help either, nobody would call be back to discuss what the real issue was. After speaking to many people in the town of Essex, apparently i am not the first family they have kicked out...they do this pretty often. If any kid is too "hard" to take care of they toss them out asap without working with the parents first. The only reason they are still in business is because childcare is so scarce around here. Every time i pass a Leaps and Bounds i get sick to my stomach thinking about they way my family was treated. I don't know how they can run a business that way, no integrity whatsoever. Please avoid this place if you can!...more

My family absolutely LOVES L&B in Essex. We are so lucky to have found affordable childcare where the providers love our little guy as much as we do. He's always cuddled and engaged (play time, walks outside, arts and crafts etc.) and is so happy every single day. As a parent, I'm thrilled that the staff is really thorough and I can always count on a follow-up if something is going on (illness, change in the classroom, events etc.). The staff (Executive Director, Essex Director and Teachers) were sensitive to the fact that he was a preemie and that we are first time parents (and we can get a little nervous) and just continue to accommodate and support us. I recommend them to all of our friends and hope to see their program continue to grow and flourish....more

The Owner, Executive Director & Program Director (Essex) do not have the child's best interests in mind. They are more concerned about protocol, the handbook policies & having the last word. They are ALL very unprofessional and argumentative. They do not care about what the parents have to say and have no compassion for sensitive situations. Communication is key and they do not understand that dialogue works both ways.
Beware of this Childcare Center. ...more

We have had an excellent experience at Leaps and Bounds, Essex. My husband and I have found the staff to be caring, attentive and good communicators. My son is happy and always wants to go. The head teacher has a BA in education and has provided enriching activities for my son and his classmates. I have no idea what facility those disgruntled people are talking about? It has not been the experience I've had there at all.

We have had a fine experience after three years and two kids and Leaps and Bounds Essex. The staff has been caring and quick to address our concerns. Most importantly our three year old has positive reports nearly every day after school. The only significant problem we have had is staff turnover. This is probably an issue at many large centers.

I was surprised by the severity of the previous review. If there are concerns of this magnitude there are better ways to address them than an online review. You can contact Vermont DCF at 1-800-649-2642. You can also search for violations at the DCF website at www.brightfutures.dcf.state.vt.us.

Take online, anonymous reviews with a grain of salt. It is hard to know who is a parent and who is a disgruntled former employee.

I would highly discourage parents from sending their children to this center. The staff are untrained and know very little about child development. I removed my child from this center because I felt that he was not physically or emotionally safe there. Staff are rude and disrespectful to the children, and use physical force when disciplining them. If you want to leave your child with responsible adults you can trust and guarantee your child is safe I suggest you look elsewhere....more

We really like Leaps and Bounds- and they haven't mentioned anything to us about not accepting checks(?). The teachers in the baby room are awesome, especially the head teacher. The only complaint we have is that they forget to put a bib on our kid after mealtimes, and being kinda drooly, he tends to wet it up. No biggie.

Aside from that, everyone is super-friendly and helpful, and you can tell that they really love the kids.

Terrible place. I could go on forever about how terrible Leaps and Bounds is, but I won't because it will just make my blood boil. The staff is generally fine, some teachers are really great. However, the owners only care about the bottom line, that is it. The only reason they run a daycare is because there is demand for it and limited supply. If there was the same demand for car washes, that is what they would be doing. The daycare is just a business they get to run in commercial real estate that they own. The latest shenanigans: forcing ACH payments and phasing out checks "to be more efficient" and "reduce costs" to provide "better care for the children." Yeah right!

Run away and don't ever look back.
